Laco Unveils the New Kiel Sport Chronograph

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Renowned for crafting iconic pilot watches, Laco elevates its collection with the introduction of the Kiel Sport Chronograph. This new timepiece marks an expansion in Laco’s renowned range, offering a sporty twist to the well-established Kiel.2 models. With its unidirectional rotating bezel, a feature beloved by fans of Laco’s squad watch series, the Kiel Sport stands out for its practicality and distinct design. This model is an embodiment of robustness and precision, making it an ideal accessory for both everyday wear and adventurous outdoor activities, appealing to pilots and watch enthusiasts alike.

Rooted in the heritage of producing legendary observation watches, the German brand Laco continues to lead in the pilot watch segment. The Kiel Sport carries the essence of Laco’s aviation legacy with classic pilot watch features like a matte case surface, stark contrasts, and the signature pilot triangle at 12 o’clock. Its dial, designed in matte black, ensures a quick, glare-free reading from any angle, embodying clear pilot watch aesthetics.

The Kiel Sport showcases striking contrasts with bright indices, Arabic numerals, and thermally blued hour and minute hands under an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. These elements are integrated into a Tricompax design and are coated with Superluminova C3, ensuring superior legibility in low-light conditions. The unidirectional rotating bezel, also coated with this luminous material, features a ceramic insert, known for its hardness, scratch resistance, color stability, and corrosion resistance. Its 60-click ratcheting allows for precise adjustments, enhancing the watch’s functionality.

Distinguished from the Kiel.2 models, this 43mm stainless steel case sports a dark sandblasted surface, aligning with Laco’s unique pilot watch style. The case houses the automatic chronograph caliber Laco 500, based on the Swiss Sellita SW500, offering chronograph functions along with day and date display, and a commendable 56-hour power reserve.

Complementing the timepiece is a black calf leather strap with light stitching and a dark sandblasted pin buckle featuring the Laco logo, mirroring the case’s finish. The Kiel Sport Chronograph, priced at 2,890 US$, will be available from mid-April at Laco and authorized retailers.
