Introducing The Brand New VERO Open Water 38

VERO just announced the launch of their latest addition to the Open Water series—the Open Water 38. This model represents the culmination of three years of meticulous production and valuable user feedback, resulting in a refined and sophisticated dive watch. With two different colors at the beginning of it’s life; Cove (Off-white) and Swell (Yellow), we’re excited to see what else VERO brings to the table for future colors.

Sleek and Functional Design

The Open Water 38 has been scaled down to a 38mm diameter, with a 46.5mm lug-to-lug measurement, and a slender 10.75mm thickness, perfectly sized dimensions if you ask us. A cool new feature that was added is the new 12-hour bezel, which has a Cerakote finish that offers robust protection and the potential for a large assortment of future color variations. Each dial in the first production run is matched to the bezel with the same Cerakote finish, creating a seamless integration.

Enhanced Bracelet and Straps

VERO has redesigned the bracelet to prioritize user functionality. The single-sided screw links, quick-release spring bars, and female end-link integration to the case make for a smooth and easy wearing experience. The bracelet, which tapers from 18mm at the lugs to 16mm at the clasp, includes a NodeX claps (thanks Nodus) equipped on-the-fly adjustable clasp and is standard on all Open Water 38 watches. Additionally, vintage-style tropic straps will be available for purchase, offering a classic alternative.

Swiss Cheese? No, Swiss Movement

At the heart of the Open Water 38 lies the renowned Sellita SW-200 automatic movement. This Swiss-made movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (VPH), is regulated to an impressive +/- 5 seconds per day in six positions, and offers a 38-hour power reserve, ensuring accuracy and reliability. It’s great to see VERO working with this movement.
